A service of rededication at St Mark’s Church Kennington, Tuesday 4 November 2025
The Roll of Honour board has been carefully removed from the former school building and remounted in St Mark’s Church, with expert help from an Old Tenisonian. This memorial stone commemorates the Archbishop Tenison’s Grammar School boys who lost their lives in the two World Wars.
A special service of rededication brought together alumni, trustees, friends, schools, the Mayor of Lambeth, and representatives from St James’s Piccadilly and St Martin-in-the-Fields as well as the French Embassy, the Royal British Legion, the Ministry of Defence and Royal Hospital Chelsea. A representative from the London Branch of the Western Front Association shared her detailed research into some of the local families who are remembered on the memorial.
The choir from Fulham Boys School led the singing, accompanied on the piano by one of our trustees, and one of the boys played the Last Post and Reveille. The day was a moving tribute of remembrance and reflection.
